Comstar Complete Wheel Conversion
For the ultimate service to convert your Comstar Wheels we will be pleased to carry out the whole process for you.
You can send us your complete wheels (without tyres) or strip out the hubs and send us those which saves shipping costs. For customers overseas who don’t want the expense of shipping to us we usually carry a small stock of used comstar hubs, or we can source them here in the UK.
We then carry out all the necessary work to create your spoked wheels which involves:
- Preparing the hub by removing the bearings and cleaning the mounting faces.
- Assembling the flanges onto the hub
- Blasting and painting the hub assembly
- Installing new wheel bearings.
- Assembling the spokes and rim.
- Truing and tensioning the wheel
- Fitting rim tapes and packaging for return to customer.
When rebuilding your wheels back to the standard rim and tyre sizes you can choose from Painted Steel, Chrome, Stainless Steel or Aluminium Rims. However, when converting your comstar wheels as you are no longer constrained by the original size rims or tyres. We have supplied many 17 inch rims suitable for wider tyres to custom bike builders. These wider rims are generally only available in Polished Aluminium but can be anodised or painted for a custom look. We always prefer to supply stainless steel spokes due to their superior durability, these are available in polished or chemical black finish. Nipples are Nickel Plated Brass as standard but can be upgraded to anodised aluminium in a number of colour choices if required.

Please note that due to custom nature of these wheels there is a delivery time of approximately 8 weeks from receipt of order. For this reason we ask for an initial deposit followed by a balance payment when the parts are ready for dispatch to you.
